HI! Iām Chris from Mama Bear Macs.
My husband & I have lived in Lake in the Hills Illinois for 23 years, and have 3 daughters. I started baking macarons because they fit into my family's food guidelines. The more I started baking them, I realized all of the flavor possibilities, and how versatile they are. They are gluten free by design, but can easily be made dairy free, corn free & soy free to accommodate different diets.
My first big macaron order was for my daughter's wedding. I loved that I was able to contribute in a creative way. After the wedding, I realized that since I was an empty nester, I had time to fill. So with the encouragement of family & close friends that had been taste testers along the way, Mama Bear Macs was born! I enjoy trying out new colors, designs and flavors. I accept custom orders, and have participated in some local markets.
When I am not baking macarons, I enjoy walking, hiking, reading, traveling and spending time with family. In April I was able to scratch off a bucket list item and hike on the Pacific Crest Trail with my daughter & son-in-law!
